Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved television series including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles recently after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family said in a announcement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.
Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
