Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after securing a victory,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his public life on dog-whistle politics and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments indicated the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 caused widespread disruption in schools and extensive missed instruction for students.

During the American gathering, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these excellent programs for free to all who wish to learn.”
