I will dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
