Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician now faces charges for performing assaults against 38 individuals who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the 45 charges include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
