The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the DM, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing started the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the region and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the party reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to form the Explorers and Planners groups.
Viewers can expect finding out which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s last Overture episode, streaming live on next week.
