It was the scene that kept viewers gripped with anticipation.

Jonathan Ross throwing his co-conspirators under a bus in a bold effort to preserve his position.

But his efforts backfired - and spectacularly so.

The remaining traitors, the musician and the comedian, appeared to notice what Ross was up to.

In a dramatic elimination ceremony, they both mercilessly targeted him, eliminating him.

"I don't understand what mistakes people are making.

I'm shocked you've done it again," the chat show host declared.

"I cannot believe that I've been eliminated unfairly, while I don't mean to offend, you've got this completely wrong," he continued.

"At this moment, I'm, and I have been all through the game totally loyal..." he said, provoking looks of despair within his competitors, prior to finishing his speech: "...for the traitors."

"That was the most absurd exit," commented a clearly disturbed Joe Marler.

Aftermath and Responses

Following this, the contestants erupted into celebration.

Finally - the loyal players have finally caught a traitor.

And not merely any deceiver.

The green suit jacket wearing, shades-adoring, the media personality is out.

As noted by show commentator the television critic, it was further evidence of just how "ruthless" the Traitors can be.

"The deceptive partnership disintegrated!

Such an intense installment," she observed.

Behind the Scenes

Yet while talking with production afterwards, Ross was gracious regarding his elimination.

"I'm somewhat happy it concluded and I'm satisfied Alan went for me too," he confessed.

"I'm hoping they will remain united and romp off to victory."

On the official after-show, he further stated that the ideal strategy for deceptive contestants was "avoid drawing attention, don't become invisible.

Which is precisely why the remaining traitors are playing such a brilliant game."

Earlier Events

Earlier in the show, another faithful was murdered.

On this occasion, it was the comedian's opportunity, following her placement the previous installment on the losing chess team.

The performer was taken out in style, in a face-to-face killing, revisiting the giant chess board.

She seemed truly surprised when she realised the actual roles of the dishonest contestants.

"I'm displeased with you whatsoever," she says to the traitors.

"You performed the game incredibly effectively."

And like everyone else, her first thought when she identified the comedian was involved as a traitor became, "Alan Killed Paloma!!!"

More Excitement

"Eliminating personally proved extremely brutal, and intensely emotional," commented the television personality.

"I resemble the Grim Reaper."

The media figure, who had also been with the unsuccessful group, managed to avoid being murdered.

But she was displeased regarding the reception of her fellow players upon entering the daily gathering the following morning.

"Everyone seems disappointed about my presence," said the television host.

"Why does not a single person trust me?"

Joe Marler was quick to explain that the difficulty stems from, she rarely offers with a lot of theories, which Garraway conceded.

"I'm completely ineffective, it's unbearable," she admitted.

Challenge Drama

Elsewhere, the focus became the comedian's antics another time, as the comedian navigated a precarious pathway across a stream in the most recent task, yelling throughout the process.

"You're performing exceptionally," the media figure commented, in an attempt to motivate him, eliciting his answer: "Be quiet."

"I imagined I was at athletic competitions with the kids.

Resembling an affectionate, pushy parent, I was putting him off," the presenter observed in her interviews.

But Carr succeeded, and upon completion, he uttered the unforgettable phrase: "God my testicles.
